1 of 1 IF THE CLIENT REFUSES TO COOPERATE WITH THE LOCAL OFFICE IN COMPLETING THE ELIGIBILITY DETERMINATION PROCESS, DENY THE APPLICATION OR CLOSE THE CASE USING ADVERSE ACTION PROCEDURES.
ONCE DENIED OR TERMINATED FOR REFUSAL TO COOPERATE, THE HOUSEHOLD MAY REAPPLY BUT WILL NOT BE DETERMINED ELIGIBLE UNTIL IT COOPERATES.
For a determination of refusal to be made, the household must be able to cooperate, but clearly demonstrate that it will not take actions that it can take and that are required to complete the eligibility process. If there is any question as to whether the household has failed rather than refused to cooperate, do not deny the case for refusal to cooperate. Offer assistance to obtain the needed information to determine eligibility.
