When the 60 month limit is met, child care benefits will discontinue at the end of the current eligibility period. • KTAP recipients who need child care while they participate in Kentucky Works activities. These include employment, education, job preparation activities, and other activities designed to assist the family to attain self-sufficiency. • Families not meeting the work or education/training requirement may have up to a minimum of three (3) months of eligibility to engage in an initial job search once in a twelve (12) month time period at initial application. Child care benefits will end after that period if the parent has not found employment or is not enrolled the equivalent of 6 credit hours in a qualified education/training activity, including SNAP E&T. • Families determined by Protection and Permanency as needing child care to mitigate risk of maltreatment, prevent entry into care, or support a placement out of home with a relative or fictive kin caregiver. • Teen parents attending elementary/middle/high school or GED classes.
