` [Example: An ABAWD reports at the March recertification interview that a 13- year-old child moved into the household in February. February becomes a compliant month, and the member is exempt from ABAWD work requirements for as long as this situation exists, or until the child turns 14. Access the member’s ABAWD months from the Individual Summary page and correct the member's tracking code for February.]
If an ABAWD reports an exemption or that they have met requirements, but the report is made untimely, do not terminate an already established claim. For example:
Example #1: Jack did not return his SNET-145 to verify E&T program participation in January for the month of December. A claim is established for the transportation payment that was issued. Jack comes into the office on February 15th and returns his SNET-145, which verifies he completed his required hours. DO NOT terminate the already established claim, as he did not verify his participation timely.
Example #2: Cathy received her 3rd non-compliant month in December, and a claim was established for January. Cathy came into the office on February 1st to reapply and verify that she began working on November 2nd and is working enough hours to meet her ABAWD requirement. DO NOT terminate the already established claim, as this report was made untimely.
D. Change in the tracking code, which changes a month from a compliant month to a non-compliant month, may result in member ineligibility.
If the tracking code is the only change and the change does not affect ongoing eligibility, the case does not pend for adverse action. However, the case does pend for adverse action if an ABAWD becomes ineligible and there are less than 10 days left in the month.
[Example: At application in 9/24, a member is credited with being employed 20 hours per week. In 2/25 at the recertification interview, it was discovered that the member was fired in 12/24. They did not work at least 80 hours in 12/24 and did not otherwise meet ABAWD requirements. When the tracking codes for 12/24, 1/25, and 2/25 are corrected to reflect non-compliance, the member becomes ineligible for SNAP effective 3/25, unless otherwise exempt.]
