ABAWD status for individuals who are under 18 years old, over 64 years old, or not an eligible member. Individuals with an NA ABAWD Month Status code will not be included or evaluated in ETP Assessment and Activity batches as they are either aged out or non-mandatory. This includes individuals who were certified before 10/25/2025 whose ABAWD status was not evaluated due to previous exemption rules.]
Note: For active cases with any child under 18 in the household prior to 10/25/2025, the ABAWD Status code will remain applicable until recertification. Applications taken on or after 10/25/2025 will be subject to the new tracking codes.
C. An ABAWD Month Status code is assigned for every SNAP recipient aged 18- 64, regardless of the county of residence, each time the case is recalculated. These codes are collected when that month's benefits are issued. It may be necessary to change the status code because of information received at a later date.
When a recipient reports or you otherwise become aware of an ongoing change in ABAWD eligibility:
1. Enter the appropriate information for the member into the system. This ensures that the correct status code is assigned for future months.
2. Determine when the ABAWD change took place.
a. Review the ABAWD Month Status code already system-assigned for that time period. b. The Field Services Supervisor or Case Manager manually corrects the status code as needed. D. After each issuance, an ABAWD Month Status code is accumulated for that benefit month. Non-compliant months can be viewed through “Individual Summary”.
To change or add a non-compliant month, select “Manage Work Participation Months Tracker” and add the month.
