Volume 2 – Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) MS 2460 – R. 6/1/26 – OMTL – 368 Temporary Shelters for the Homeless

A. [Individuals and/or families residing in temporary shelters for the homeless may receive SNAP if all eligibility criteria are met.

B. Residents who are billed for rent are entitled to a shelter deduction.

C. Shelters for the homeless may be approved by the Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA) to accept SNAP from the homeless for the purchase of prepared meals.

D. Employees of temporary shelters for the homeless that accept SNAP for payment of meals may not apply for or act as a representative for individuals residing in the shelter.
