2. If benefits are approved without using unverified post-reference date information, this unverified information will be handled as “report a change” after application authorization, in line with change reporting rules.
Example: A SNAP application was submitted on November 15th, reporting income from Taco Bell, which was unverified. An RFI was issued with a due date of December 15th. On December 10th, the individual reports new income from Walmart, which is unverified. A new RFI is mailed with a due date of December 20th. On December 15th, the individual provided income verification from Taco Bell. The application was approved on December 15th, with Taco Bell income only. After approval, an RFI is issued for income verification from Walmart with a due date of December 20th.
E. Dispose of any program(s) not pending.
Note: Changes to pending applications must be entered via “Proceed to Verification” rather than “Report a Change”. If the information is entered via “Report a Change”, the system will generate an RFI allowing only 10 days to return all requested mandatory verification, causing the application to deny on the 10th day if the requested mandatory verification is not returned. This will result in the case being in error, as the applicant must have 30 days from the application date to return the mandatory verification requested on the original RFI.
