L. Calculate the allotment by multiplying the net monthly income by 30 percent. The result is rounded up to the next whole dollar. Subtract this amount from the Maximum SNAP Benefit Allotment for the household's size.
M. [For SNAP applications and recertifications submitted on or after June 26, 2026, benefits for eligible households will be subject to a maximum allotment cap equal to 200 percent of the federal maximum allotment for a four-person household.
Based on the 2026 four-person maximum allotment of $994, the cap is $1,988. Once this cap is reached, adding additional household members (including households with more than eight members) will not increase the benefit amount.
This change applies only to:
1. New SNAP Applications; and 2. SNAP Recertifications. This change does not apply to:
1. Cases during an active certification period; or 2. Reinstatements. Example 1: A 10-person household applies for SNAP on 6/27/2026. The maximum SNAP allotment for the household is $1988. Example 2: A nine-person household reports an additional household member with no income during their recertification interview. The benefit amount will remain $1988, regardless of the number of additional members with no income reported in the home. Maximum SNAP Benefit Allotment:
Household Size Allotment 1 $298 2 $546 3 $785 4 $994 5 $1183 6 $1421 7 $1571 8 $1789 9 or more $1988
N. Approve CE and ECE households whose initial month benefit results in less than $24 (regardless of application date), for the actual prorated amount, unless the amount is less than $10; those cases will approve for $0 benefits for the initial month if the application date is after the first day of the month.]
