22.0 WORK SUPPORTS
22.1 Child Care Subsidies
TANF financial assistance recipients who are FTW program participants and TANF eligible families who are employed may be eligible to receive child care subsidies. The subsidies are based on the hours of child care provided or the hours of the parent's employment, whichever is less. Once the need is established, the subsidy payments will be the actual cost up to the established maximum rate, according to the type of care. There is no limit to the length of time that a family may receive child care subsidies. See Attachment C-1.
Child care subsidies are provided in support of TANF Purposes 1 and 2 and are funded with federal TANF and State Maintenance of Effort funds.
22.2 Transportation Assistance
In addition to child care subsidies, TANF recipients who are active with the FTW program, may be eligible to receive assistance for transportation costs such as reimbursements for mileage and parking, monthly bus passes, and other means determined appropriate by the Department.
