WIC 200-18 SECTION: Certification

SUBJECT: Use of the Regression Provision

Federal Regulations: §246.7(e)(1)(vi) POLICY The possible regression risk criterion shall not be used for an initial certification or for the certification of Priority II infants or postpartum women. The regression criterion shall be used only once consecutively. The regression provision shall be used at the discretion of the Competent Professional Authority (CPA) however; it may only be used if there was a documented nutrition at risk condition at a prior certification, as evidenced by anthropometric, biochemical, clinical or dietary data.
