ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible for disaster assistance, the client must: A. Be approved for or receiving a grant payment during the time of the county, Governor, or federally declared disaster. B. Have an emergent need related to the disaster that could include, but is not limited to: a threat to health or safety, lack of food, clothing, shelter, transportation, personal care or medical care, or other unmet expenses. C. Request disaster assistance either verbally or in writing to the county department. Counties have the option to utilize a state prescribed form for a disaster assistance request. D. Nothing precludes the county from making additional payments to the client for the disaster through a general assistance program or other resources. This payment shall also not preclude an individual from accessing additional resources that are unrelated to the disaster.
