PROVIDER DETERMINATIONS In accordance with 7 CFR 273.7(c)(18) a State agency must ensure that E&T providers are informed of their authority and responsibility to determine if an individual is ill-suited for a particular E&T component. Describe the process used by E&T providers to communicate provider determinations to the State agency. When an EF PO determines that a client is unable to participate in EF, the EF PO is required to notify the county SNAP eligibility team through email, phone, or an in-person meeting about a provider determination (PD) within ten days of the date the determination is made. The EF PO is required to document the PD in CBMS, including updating the client’s plan status to “EF Provider Determination” and detailed case comments. The EF PO may provide input on the most appropriate next steps for the client with a PD. Describe how the State agency notifies clients of a provider determination. As a state-supervised, county-administered state, the State agency is not responsible for notifying clients of a PD. This is the responsibility of the county's SNAP eligibility team. SNAP eligibility teams must notify the client of the PD within ten calendar days of receiving notification from the EF PO. This can be completed through a phone call attempt or a written notification that includes contact information for the client to call the county for further information. What is the timeframe for contacting clients after receiving a provider determination? 1-3 Days 4-7 Days 8-10 Days 36
