MS Manual 01/01/22
A Health Care eligibility group defines the eligibility requirements an individual must meet to be eligible for Arkansas Health Care coverage. The eligibility group also defines the benefit package or array of services the individuals in that group will receive. Effective January 1, 2014, each of Arkansas’ Health Care groups fall under one (1) of the following general groupings: • Families and Individuals; • Aid to the Aged, Blind, and Disabled; • Foster Care & Adoption Assistance; or • Emergency Services for Aliens. Within these general groupings are more specific groups defined by specific individual characteristics, such as ageor services needed (for example, Long Term Services and Supports). In addition, some groups are assigned two (2) or more categories of coverage due to differing benefit packages or federal funding match rates. These are described in more detail in the following sections.
