3004-4 Fuel Type
3004-4 FUEL TYPE
Primary fuel used to heat the home is an important factor in determining an applicant's eligibility and grant amount. The application must provide this information.
If the primary heat source is not clearly indicated on the application and no heating bills are included, the application must be pended for this information.
The fuel types are:
Coal
Electric/Steam
Gasoline
Kerosene
Natural Gas
Oil
Propane
Wood Pellets
Wood (cord)
For the purposes of identifying the fuel type, it does not matter if the applicant pays for their own heat or has heat included in the rent payment.
NOTE: Gasoline is only allowed if used to heat a vehicle the client has lived in for 60+ days or used to operate a generator that is the client's sole source of electricity. For proper ECOS Energy Community Online System data entry, refer to MS Manual Section 3004-5 Grant Computaion, Step 1, Bullet 7 .
