Memo MC #19
STATE OF ALASKA
Department of Health and Social Services
Division of Public Assistance
TRANSMITTAL NUMBER: MC #19
MANUAL: Adult Public Assistance
DATE: October 15, 2008
In response to questions from field staff, we are clarifying that fleeing felons who are not eligible for SSI or SSA benefits and individuals who are not eligible for SSI benefits due to the SSI program’s stricter citizenship requirements may be eligible for APA if they meet all other eligibility requirements.
In addition, the IRS mileage allowance table has been removed from Addendum 1. In manual sections where the mileage rate is referenced, a link to the IRS website showing the most current mileage rate has been supplied.
Highlights of these policy revisions are described below. If you have any questions please contact the Policy and Program Development Team at 465-3382 or email dpapolicy@alaska.gov.
